Marike van Beurden
Dutch-born van Beurden is the former pastry chef of Caprice at Four Seasons Hong Kong. She continues to be based in Hong Kong, fulfilling her passion creating delicious yet beautiful pieces of culinary art.
A dedicated pâtissier, van Beurden initially studied her art in The Netherlands with a focus on bakery and confectionary. She moved to Bruges to finesse her skills as a pastry chef and chocolatier after graduating and found herself working with Dominique Persoone, then with Pierre Gagnaire at Sketch, one of the trendiest addresses in London. Other highlights of her career include Restaurant Le Cinq at the Four Seasons George V in Paris, La Villa Madie in Cassis under Enrico Bernardo's watch, Hotel du Castellet and Maison Pic.
The young pastry chef has been commended internationally, with accolades such as Dutch Chocolate Master 2013 and Hong Kong Tatler Best Restaurants’ Best Pastry Chef 2015. After ten years of working in award-winning restaurants, she decided that it was time to dedicate more time to her passion for creation and share her knowledge with pastry chefs all over the world. She now works under her own company, Marike van Beurden Consulting Ltd.
