The Four Seasons’ airy lobby lounge has long been a classic meeting spot for business lunches and hotel guests who may not venture far into the rest of Central, but there’s plenty more reason to come now that Andrea Accordi has joined the kitchen. The northern Italian chef has given the menu a revamp, producing beautiful and rather intricate plates such as a contemporary update on vitello tonnato that sees discs of veal layered with tuna and anchovy sauce, and grilled fillet of John Dory served with the spryest baby calamari, fennel panzanella, avocado and olive oil sabayaon. Pan-Asian favourites such as Hainan chicken rice, Indian vegetable curry and udon noodle soup sit alongside traditional options such as cheeseburgers and upmarket sandwiches. Chef Ringo Chan’s sweet creations on the dessert menu continue to thrill, such as the fresh mint gelato rolls filled with lime and strawberry semifreddo—it’s no wonder that The Lounge’s afternoon tea is perpetually popular.
