The Langham Place hotel’s signature buffet restaurant offers diners an array of international delights for all meals of the day, although an à la carte menu with a carefully curated selection of both Eastern and Western delicacies is available. High ceilings and comfortably spaced seating make for a relaxing dining experience. For the dinner buffet, a chilled glass display case presents freshly shucked oysters, with slabs of raw fish in the adjacent display, sliced into sashimi when ordered. A highlight is the fresh seafood station, featuring some of the day’s freshest catch, which on our visit included crab, mussels, whelks, shrimp and crayfish. Diners may also order bouillabaisse, where your choice of fresh seafood (shrimp, mussels, octopus, scallops) is added to a rich, hearty broth. Also worthy of a mention is the raclette station, where a round of the cheese is heated and the melted portion is then scraped onto diners’ plates. There are also classic Chinese barbecued meats, a noodle station and a delightful spread of desserts. Popular with families, The Place offers great value for money.
