When The Butchers Club opened their first dedicated burger bar in Wan Chai, we were thrilled – quality food at a location close to the Hong Kong Tatler Dining offices. The menu is simple with one burger, duck fat fries, an ice cream float, and an assortment of drinks that include sodas, a shot of Jack Daniels, and beer. Having visited on numerous occasions, it’s clear that the quality of the meat in the patty is top-grade – equal parts chuck, rump and brisket, ground to order in-house, from 100 per cent dry-aged 300+ day grain-fed certified Australian Angus beef, the meat retains its juiciness and is seasoned just enough to enhance the natural flavours. Limited seating on bar stools is available throughout the small space, so we recommend going early if you want to secure yourself a spot. Alternatively, the burgers are available as take-away, but depending on how far you need to travel before you eat, we do not recommend this. Butchers Club Burger invites guest chefs as part of their “A Burger Takeover” series, who present their version of a burger for a limited time. Those looking for a little more than the original burger can order from the not-so-secret menu (which is available online and accessible via QR code at the venue), and includes a pork burger, Double Happiness burger, an Asian-inspired burger, and vegetarian burger.
