Set on the 31st floor of the beautiful Banyan Tree at the Galaxy resort, Belon offers a decadent but cozy and inviting atmosphere overlooking the city’s skyline. Enjoy a glass or two of Champagne and a few oysters at the oyster and wine bar before taken in the large dramatic room of high ceilings, modern chandeliers and warm lighting which is emphasizes by spacious tables. The tabletop is elegant which includes neatly pressed cream tablecloths, beautiful presentation plates, white bone China, polished silverware and decent wine glasses.
Using first class ingredients and executing perfectly is what makes Belon one of the places to dine in town, the restaurant offers a selection of international dishes ranging from jet-fresh seafood, delicious lobster bisque to the wonderful selection of prime grilled steaks including the tempting Wagyu grade 5 Tomahawk 45 Oz steak. For starters we had a nice selection of oysters with over 10 choices from France, Ireland, New Zealand and Scotland, they were super fresh and delicious. The lobster bisque served with lobster claw and a roe cream is one of the signature dishes at Belon and it tasted scrumptious. Another signature dishes from the restaurant are the wonderful steaks and we ordered the 12 oz dry-aged grass-fed New York strip lion which was cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavour, beautifully presented this is simplicity at its best.
The overall wine selection at Belon is very good with many international wines available by the glass. With many exclusive wines on the list including a nice selection of Champagnes, which will match the oysters perfectly.
The reservation system is first class and the booking was very efficient. The staff are genuinely friendly and attuned to the needs of the diners, seem to be well-versed with the menu and wine-list.
A three-course dinner for two with wine will come to over MOP2400, while not cheap but considering the first rate ingredients and service, this is good value for money. There is an option of the signature set menus with 3 courses for $498 or 4 courses for $568 per head.
