Review
Setting
Yamm, situated in the Mira Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, demonstrates that plenty of thought has been put into its super modern design. It’s spacious and the atmosphere is relaxing, albeit extremely busy with diners on most days. The décor includes an impressive buffet counter that is very thoughtfully lit and ergonomic. It is not so easy to have a quiet meal as the restaurant is very popular at all times.
Food
Yamm features wide array of both Western and Asian flavours on the menu, with plenty of regional and international dishes to choose from to suit all tastes. The prawn bisque is intensely flavoured and still has plenty of fresh prawn meat even when you have gotten to the bottom of the bowl. Their signature dish of grilled lamb chop is tender and full of flavour, and as it is cooked to order, the meat comes perfectly as requested. The lobster and scallop risotto is a substantial meal in itself, adorned with a fresh lobster tail alongside freshly-seared scallops. The risotto itself was cooked wonderfully, leaving a little crunch among the softness of the rice. The garlic mashed potatoes was a beautiful side dish and contained the right amount of garlic. The Mira-misu is the hotels take on tiramisu and has a great texture, and all the flavours of the kahlua and mascarpone are very much evident.

Yamm’s service is excellent. Thoughtful waiting staff are attentive and knowledge of both food and wine is of the highest standard.
Price
Dinner for two will come to around HK$500 per person with a glass of wine each, which for the quality of cooking and service you get, is very good value.
