Guo Fu Lou's Burgundy Pairing Feast
Guo Fu Lou, the fine dining Cantonese restaurant located in the penthouse of iSquare in Tsim Sha Tsui, is offering a wine dinner pairing traditional fine Chinese cuisine with rare Burgundy wines.
Some of the wines featured include a 1993 Louis Roederer Brut, a 2002 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier Montrachet and a 1969 Nicolas Potel Pommard 1er Cru Les Pezerolles.
The menu includes Cantonese classics such as steamed spotted garoupa, barbecued suckling pig and baked stuffed crab shell. However, we are extremely disappointed to see that a "braised standard shark's fin" is also on the menu, especially as we had previously lauded the restaurant for collaborating with WildAid, an organisation focused on ending illegal wildlife trade, by taking shark's fin of its menu.
We can only hope that the "braised standard shark's fin" course on this wine menu can be replaced by something more ethical.
The ten-course wine-pairing menu is priced at HK$46,800 per table of ten.
