Penfolds Wine Dinner at The Steak House

Even non-wine drinkers have heard of Penfolds, one of the most famous Australian wineries whose red logo is one of the most recognisable logos Down Under. Founded in 1844 by an English physician, Penfolds produces both table wines priced at under HK$100 per bottle, to a super premium range which includes Grange, Bin 797 and Magill Estate, which can go up to over a thousand dollars per bottle.

At the InterContinental’s Steak House on July 30 is Penfold’s winemaker Stephanie Dutton, who will be presenting six different wines, paired with a four courses. The menu is priced at HK$1,588 per person and includes the following pairings:

- seabass fillet confit and foie gras terrine with a 2008 Yattarna Chardonnay

- deep-fried lobster ball with a 2009 Bin 23 Adelaide Hill Pinot Noir

- roasted US beef and braised beef cheek with either a 2009 Bin 797 Cabernet Sauvignon, or a 2008 Cellar Reserve Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

- oven puff American chipotle cheddar with a NV Club Reserve Tawny
